Mar 04, 2013· Today I was given a very heavy duty treadmill from a medical office, used for stress test and computer controlled. I did NOT get the computer controller. The treadmill has a 1.75 hp Baldor Industrial motor, 0-4000 rpm, 100volt dc with several control boards/heat sinks etc. Anybody have an idea how I can control this unit?

So a "Variac" or other type of variable transformer would do the job, for instance, on a straight rectifier DC supply. There are electronic ways to change voltage also, as with the older "KB" DC output controllers, which phase-control SCRs to adjust voltage. More info?????

They don't have any more of either the motor or the speed control in stock, but you can still scrounge treadmills from craig's list. The speed control and the motor were about $120 together, so it worked out well.

Feb 27, 2007· the dc motor is a 2hp motor and the dc speed control has a tachometer feedback. there is no loss of rpm/torque down at 200 rpm where i do most of my pipe threading.as for as cost goes i would say it may be a washout but if you got already a good sized dc motor then check if your speed control has the tachometer feedback.
