The end milling (on the side) will have the corners beyond the end depth of the part. I only climb mill when .005 is left to remove, then I also tend to put a bit of lock on the gibs (the variable drag thing mentioned).

Jan 16, 2009· If you're cutting on the low side of your face mill (as you should) which you'll know when you tram the head, then you shouldn't have any rubbing on the back sweep of the cutter. If you do, that indicates you're deflecting some of the cutting forces and it's resulting in the cutter rubbing on it when it comes around the back side.
